This Sanborn fire insurance map, page 222, shows the size of the Midwood School campus along Central Avenue.

The Lawyers Road School was one of six new schools constructed in 1935. This photo from a news clippings shows the building in the final stages of construction.

As of fall 2012, the Midwood School building is vacant as evidenced by the empty signposts in front of the school.

The growing area around Chatham Estates quickly outgrew the new Lawyers Road school. A school building program in 1941 funded the addition of an auditorium designed by local architect Charles W. Connelly.
